Glider Proctoring Chrome Extension: A Comprehensive Review

Introduction: Streamlining Recruitment Processes with Glider Proctoring Chrome Extension

In today's competitive job market, businesses rely on innovative tools to optimize their recruitment processes. One such tool is the Glider Proctoring Chrome Extension, a powerful add-on designed to enhance the Glider AI Talent Quality Platform. In this article, we will explore the functionality of this extension, analyze user reviews, and provide insights to help you make an informed decision for your business.

What is Glider Proctoring Chrome Extension?

The Glider Proctoring Chrome Extension is an add-on that works seamlessly with the Glider AI Talent Quality Platform. Its primary purpose is to enable screen sharing during tests conducted on the platform. This feature allows hiring teams to monitor candidates' screen activity, ensuring transparency and accountability throughout the assessment process.

User Reviews and Feedback: Pros and Cons

To gain a comprehensive understanding of the Glider Proctoring Chrome Extension, we analyzed user reviews. While some users expressed satisfaction with its functionality, others raised concerns and reported negative experiences. Let's take a closer look at the strengths and weaknesses identified by users.

Strengths:

  1. Transparency: The extension provides hiring teams with real-time insights into candidates' screen activity, ensuring a transparent assessment process.
  2. Integrity checks: The extension captures and reports any suspicious behavior during the test, enabling hiring teams to make informed decisions about a candidate's integrity.
  3. Detailed reporting: Upon test submission, hiring teams receive a comprehensive report on candidate competency and integrity, supported by evidence captured during the assessment.

Weaknesses:

  1. Invasiveness: Some users have expressed concerns about the extent of access the extension requires, raising questions about privacy and data security.
  2. Technical difficulties: Users have reported issues with the extension's functionality, such as inaccurate tracking of eye movements and unnecessary interruptions during the test.

Our Recommendation: Considerations for Your Business

Based on the aggregate rating of 1.67 out of 5 and user reviews, we advise caution when considering the Glider Proctoring Chrome Extension. While the tool offers features that aim to enhance the recruitment process, the reported issues and negative feedback should be taken into account.

When choosing a tool for talent acquisition or talent development, it is crucial to prioritize user experience, data security, and privacy. While the Glider Proctoring Chrome Extension may have good intentions, user feedback suggests that it falls short in meeting these expectations. We recommend exploring alternative options that prioritize candidate comfort, technical reliability, and respect for privacy.

Final Thoughts: Prioritizing a Positive User Experience

The Glider Proctoring Chrome Extension may not be the best choice for businesses seeking a seamless and user-friendly recruitment process. Your hiring teams and candidates deserve a tool that prioritizes their needs and provides a positive experience. Take the time to research and consider alternatives that align more closely with your requirements and values.

Decent but maybe too sensitive. This thing flagged my eye movement while I was reading my screen.

The absence of the LSE support/autosuggest in that joke of the IDE, coupled with forbidding googling the exact syntax of the function, does not make this in any way a real world coding experience. JS objects may have hundreds of functions each, and nobody remembers the exact syntax of each. This is what ESLint and autosuggest are for. (Also the 'keep your hands and your ears where I can see it, don't look sideways' makes you feel like you are getting arrested) This is not suitable at all for mid-level or senior developer screening, sorry. Not a good job on that IDE.

While the testing of system function works, and the sample questions are available, the actual test is not apparent. I feel as if this is simply a test of how I would respond to stressors. It is not a fair representation of my skills and training.

This is so unfriendly tool.

not being able to use a pen or paper or even a calculator is not an example of the real world, this is nor a great way to have a test, we all test differently.

This is so unfriendly to neurodivergent and disabled people. Not being able to look elsewhere, like using a notepad to better understand and analyze questions, is problematic. Constant audio monitoring is difficult because I talk to myself to process information. Whole screen sharing is also an issue; my ultra-wide monitor makes it very straining to have the browser window take up the entire screen, and it triggers the "you are not looking at the screen" warning. My wallpaper and desktop files were visible the entire time. A time limit per question? I can instantly see people with autistic traits and anxiety disorder not performing well. The “AI” should have been used to discover ways to be inclusive, not to track vision and audio. This extension only enforces neurotypical behaviors. Additionally, who knows what else this extension is monitoring? I tried using it in an incognito window for some privacy, but it didn't allow that. Overall, this extension and the way it enforces testing are not inclusive of different ways to process information and solve problems. It narrows the candidate pool and success rate to those with a specific problem-solving approach, which hurts the diversity of intelligence types and creative problem-solving.

The fact that you are not allowed to write things down to be able to pull apart questions is ridiculous. An empty notepad is not cheating. Please get this together. It is ridiculous to think this is what someone believes simulates a real world environment.

• I was told to share my entire screen and I did and at the time, it was happy with that. But as soon as the test started, because I have dual monitors, it was nagging me the entire time that it was suspicious, yet during setup, it didn't once mention I needed to share both screens because I would have! Not only that, but there was no option to rectify the issue during the test ?‍♂️ • it wouldn't let me select the correct camera, so I had to choose a worse quality one, and it was buggy, it would let me select the camera, but it wouldn't switch sources. I think it's because I have more than one. Every camera I'd select was the same camera.... wth?!? It was some very buggy software! ? They should do some usability testing! ?‍♂️ Uninstalling right away, I hated using this thing! ?

This is the most useless screen sharing ai tool.

The premise distrusts people and the execution creates (many) opportunities for anxieties, as if interviewing wasn't stressful enough. - A bird chirps, and you get a threatening message assuming there's people in the background, feeding you answers. - You look up while trying to remember ('eye accessing cues') , and a message says that you're trying to cheat. - The same if you fidget or move too much. Also, there's the possibility for technical problems... - The intro video message one must give, in my case, had inverted colors. There was nothing I could do and no was to upload a known-good video. It took extra time to address it in the video, and caused stress while it's important in the video to act as your normal, unstressed self. All-in-all, Glider should rethink its values, its promises, and do tests with job seekers about there experience.

Insulting and terrible. This app is obviously just a horrible scam. Companies pay for it when much better solutions exist, and job applicants are forced to install spyware. The positive reviews are obviously fake, which is also against policy. If you don't need the job, please tell the recruiter that this criminal software is a dealbreaker for you. If the glider assessment tells you to "close all other tabs, especially those containing sensitive information" before starting it, what does this company do other than distribute spyware?
